A former managing editor of The Chicago Tribune probes the collapse of the newspaper industry and tries, mostly in vain, to find hope for the future of journalism.
Building a Better Teacher - NYTimes.com -
If his teammates wanted him to play better, they didn’t just say, “Get better.” They told him to “mark tighter” or “close the space.” Maybe the reason he and others were struggling so mightily to talk and even to think about teaching was that the right words didn’t exist — or at least, they hadn’t been collected. And so he set out to assemble the hidden wisdom of the best teachers in America.

Here is a desktop screenshot of the North Korean Linux-based operating system: Red Star. Not sure whether it’s based on an existed Linux distro or not but the antivirus and the firewall were written from scratch by North Korean coders!
FYI, North Korea also has “its own internet” (Kwangmyong) which is independent from the US-based Internet regulator. Actually it’s a nationwide intranet and wide area network released in 2000. Kwangmyong has a browser, an e-mail programme, news groups and even a search engine!

lanlimitless asked: Hey anh, just checked your status again in JPN. You were the second member, oh wow, ... Ok, I got that you have tried to "purify"/"simplify" your life. So what kind of movies do you watch now? Do you enjoy them? And guess what, your host in ifrance still works hahaha. Who is the guy in your avatar? How does it mean to you? Which does it represent for? Ok, I ask way too much ... Thank you! Have a nice day
It would be long and complicated to answer the question about what kind of movie I tend to watch now. So simply, I will write down here some movies I still remember recently (movies I watched within 1 year): Shunji Iwai’s movies, Wong Kar-Wai’s movies, Kim Ki-Duk’s movies, Old boy, Up in the air, Amelie, District 9, Avatar, (500) days of Summer, Once, Up, Inglourious Basterds, Edukator, Goodbye Lenin, The Live of Other, Watchmen, The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, The Fountain, Slumdog Millionaire, Accross the Universe,…a few short movies and TV series (unordered list).
About the guy in my avatar, he is Shunji Iwai, my favorite Japanese movie director. People know him through Love Letter, All About Lily Chou-Chou but Undo, April Story, Hana & Alice are also excellent. In fact, he exactly looks like me (or I look like him!?).
BTW, thanks alot for interesting facts you just found out about me in JPN. Good luck to you.
junnie36 asked: Why do you choose eco-poli as a major? What will you utilize the knowledge you gain from this area for your future life, your career and your passion?
Simply because I think that I can not understand the world we are living in if I only study either Economics or Political Science. And it’s true! Then once I understand why, I can know how. It’s simple.
